Governor Promotes Health Care Reform Bill

Wednesday to discuss health care reform and the new plan that would
house insurance affordable health care to everyone.

He and Assembly Speaker poker cards Nunez talked to various business and
labor groups at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and discussed the
Assembly's passage this week of a new state health care bill.

"Governor Schwarzenegger, I believe, demonstrated true leadership and
vision," said Nunez. "And really had the courage to stand up to the
forces that cheap auto insurance no."

Schwarzenegger said that it took cooperation from several different
groups to create the plan and said he did cheap insurance tell organizations to
get involved, rather he asked.

"It's shared responsibility," the governor said. "That's what it's all
about. We all have the responsibility to fix the health care system
and everyone has to put money in."

If approved by the state Senate, the bill would cover 3.6 million
currently uninsured Californians. Funding would come in several parts:

* $4.6 billion from the federal government in matching dollars

* $2.3 billion emo style a 4 percent hospital fee

* $2.6 billion from employer contributions

* $1.5 billion from a tobacco tax

* $1.6 billion from county and other funds

* $2.1 billion from individuals who pay for insurance

The bill is homeowners insurance because of its potential impact on the
state's $14 billion budget deficit and because of the funding source
for the plan that would cost more than $14 billion. But Governor
Schwarzenegger said that this bill would have an affect on the budget.
In fact, he said it could help the current crisis.

"This health care reform is revenue neutral," Schwarzenegger said. "We
should not even consider not doing (it)."

The state's Republican governor and the Democratic speaker of the
Assembly say they'd like to put an initiative on the November ballot
to increase hospital and tobacco taxes and to impose employer fees to
help offset the cost.

However, the bill will undoubtedly face stiff opposition from tobacco
lobbyists as well as health insurance companies that stand to lose
revenues.

Kaiser Permanente, which hosted the gathering, provides both health
care and health insurance, and they said they support the idea.

"We really support universal health care and feel that custom faces playing cards care is
the right of every Californian ," said Kaiser Permanente Executive
